The autumn edition of UK Handmade magazine brings with it a flavour of Japan, with recipes including Japanese-inspired cupcakes, a fabric, “Furoshiki”, gift wrapping tutorial, how to make your very own "Amigurumi" crochet Woodland Bunny and screen-printing.
Editor, Anna Stassen, describes why autumn is her favourite season:
“Autumn in Japan brings with it brilliant shades of reds, oranges and yellows that mark the start of “Kouyou” (autumn leaves). Many people love Spring time in Japan with the famous cherry blossoms, but I think Autumn just tips Spring to the post as my favorite time of the year in this land rich in cultural and artistic heritage . This issue we have brought some of that Japanese magic to the pages of UK Handmade. ”
This edition also marks the start of a fascinating series called “The road less travelled”. The article's author, Kirsten Miller, explains:
